At Emese, we use the latest evidence-based approach to address the hormonal symptoms that accompany perimenopause. Receive a comprehensive initial consultation where we create a management plan, using a shared decision-making strategy. We may consider a trial of menopause hormone treatment (MHT) to alleviate your symptoms; however, it is important to note that not all patients will be appropriate candidates for this therapy. For those unsuitable for MHT, we will explore non-hormonal medications and provide guidance on lifestyle modifications.
Additionally, we will discuss dietary and nutritional recommendations, exercise regimens, and strategies to address changes in libido and sexual function. During your consultation, a body composition scan will be conducted using advanced body composition analysers, which will provide detailed measurements including muscle mass, body fat mass, body fat percentage, basal metabolic rate, bone mass, BMI, and body water composition.
On-site, we can arrange a DEXA bone density scan to assess for osteoporosis, using the latest DEXA scanning technology available next door at Batavia Health.
We will also evaluate your risk factors for breast cancer, other cancers, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis, and discuss screening tests for these conditions. Basic blood tests may be arranged as part of your assessment.
